This course is not recommended for Math, Engineering, Science or Computer Science students and it does not satisfy the prerequisite for MAT 123. Students should be prepared to actively participate in class discussions during every class meeting. Some examples include: social justice home repair population growth and density and consumer literacy. Class discussions will be used to investigate mathematical concepts based on real-life examples. This course integrates arithmetic and quantitative literacy with mathematical concepts such as fundamental operations of integers and rational numbers, ratio and proportion, percents, proportional reasoning, data interpretation, algebraic reasoning, graphing lines, and modeling. Students who intend to take MAT 109 and/or major in science, technology, engineering or mathematics related discipline should take MAT 003 instead of this course. All non-STEM students with MAT 001, MAT 013 or MAT 003 placement are eligible to take this course. MAT 013 - Integrated Arithmetic and Quantitative Reasoning Iĭescription: Prerequisite: RGD 001 (may be taken concurrently).Ī non-credit course that prepares students to take a credit-level general liberal arts course in mathematics. Graded on an S-U basis.ĭepartment: Math/Computer Science/Info Tec Students who intend to major in science, technology, engineering or mathematics should take MAT002 or MAT 003 instead of this course.
